St. Oswald's Church, Askrigg

St. Oswald
One of few Grade 1 listed buildings in North Yorkshire, it dates from the 15th century although there is evidence of earlier work. It was built in the Perpendicular style and possesses an embattled western tower. By the mid-nineteenth century, the foundations of the nave piers had given way, so the church was restored between 1852 and 1854 at a cost of £1,500.

Parking can be difficult in Askrigg. Please be careful when parking within the village so as not to inconvenience local people. There is level access by the north door of the church. Drivers of disabled visitors please call the Festival office for drop-off advice on 01748 880018.

Please note that their is one toilet within the church which is strictly for artists and disabled visitors. The nearest public toilets are in the hall 150 metres down from the church on the other side of the road.
