Where to eat and drink in the Upper Dales

This guide lists food and drink providers who support the Festival.  When booking, please mention that you are coming for Swaledale Festival.

The Bridge Inn: a former coaching inn dating back to the 15th century, The Bridge Inn sits in the picturesque village of Grinton and has a great reputation for homemade food, well-kept real ales, an extensive wine selection and comfortable en-suite accommodation.

The Burgoyne: a privately run luxury hotel nestling in the heart of the beautiful Swaledale Valley.  High-quality cuisine is at the heart of the Burgoyne with its elegant dining rooms' magnificent view of Reeth Green.  It has spectacular service and the finest of locally sourced Yorkshire produce.  The food combines traditional standards with a modern fusion.

The CB Inn: the constantly changing menu at The CB Inn reflects the seasons, the wonderful local produce and the creativity, experience and dedication of its team of local chefs.  Its reputation for fine food has resulted in the award of an AA Rosette in 2013, an award which it has maintained for the last three years.

Corn Mill Tea Room: a delightfully traditional establishment in the heart of Bainbridge which serves delicious homemade food throughout the day.  Visitors are treated to freshly baked delicacies and freshly brewed tea and coffee.

Dales Bike Centre: a bike centre with a 'cafe & cakery' and a passion for really good food using local produce.  Be it a hearty bowl of soup, a filling sandwich, a tasty panini or the classic cyclist fare of beans on toast - expect great food and great service.

The Farmers Arms: a pub that still has that unspoilt charm.  Situated within the stunning scenery and spectacular walking country of Upper Swaledale, this traditional Yorkshire Dales pub boasts a welcoming atmosphere and prides itself on its well-kept local ales and tasty homemade food with a varied menu and specials board.  With an open fire and a stone-flagged floor, muddy boots and well-behaved dogs are always welcome.

Red Lion Inn: a traditional country community pub that has been owned by the same family for 50 years and offers bar snacks, soups, pasties, hot drinks and ice creams.  In the tiny snug there are photographs relating to the various films and TV programmes filmed at this unusually photogenic spot.

Reeth Ice Cream Parlour: a family-run ice cream parlour situated in the picturesque village of Reeth, specialising in real dairy ice cream made by Brymor on the farm at Jervaulx.  There are sixteen delicious flavours to choose from and you can also enjoy teas, hot chocolate and fresh coffee.
