It’s always good to have friends. These are the people who like you for what you are and are there to help you out when you need it.
At Swaledale Festival our Friends play an important role in helping to fund the Festival. As you may have noticed, our ticket prices are often very reasonable when compared with what you would pay to see similar artists in other venues and this is partly because we use our other sources of income to help keep ticket prices low. One of our major ‘other sources of income’ is the subscriptions and additional donations that members of our Friends make, and in return we offer them several privileges.
These subscriptions and donations can be enhanced by a Gift Aid declaration which means we can reclaim the tax you have already paid on that sum. That increases its value to us by 25% without you doing anything more than agreeing to us claiming it.
If you would like to become a Friend of Swaledale Festival for 2017, please choose one of two ways to pay your subscription:
a) To pay with a credit or debit card, complete the electronic form at the bottom of this page.
b) To pay by cheque, download, print and complete the subscription form and post it with your cheque. This form can also be used to set up a standing order to cover on-going Friends Membership for future years. We really appreciate this as it helps to reduce our costs.
Friends’ subscriptions are £30 individual and £50 joint membership per year.
If you would like to add an additional donation, it is always welcome. For information on separate donations or leaving a legacy, see here.
Single membership entitles you to buy 2 tickets for each event during the Friends’ priority booking period before the main box office opens. Joint membership entitles you to buy 4 tickets per event. To qualify for this benefit your membership must be current before the priority period opens.
During the Festival there is also a Friends’ reception one afternoon between the afternoon and evening concerts. There is a good finger buffet so you don’t need to worry about eating if you are going to the evening concert. It’s a good opportunity to meet new people and catch up with old friends and sometimes Festival artists drop in to chat.
We are always considering other ways of making Friends’ membership more attractive so if you have any ideas, or wish to correspond about any other Friends’ matters please contact email@example.com
